Kay Premium Marking Films (KPMF) has been manufacturing high quality self-adhesive vinyl films in South Wales, United Kingdom since 1991.  Initially trading as Premium Marking Films (PMF) the company began operation in a modern 6,000m² purpose built factory designed for the production of high quality self-adhesive films.  PMF’s market reputation was soon established as a supplier of quality films into the high end of the graphics and printing industry.

In July of 1995, PMF was acquired by Kay Automotive Graphics (KAG) of Michigan USA, a premier supplier of graphics to the automotive industry.  At this time, PMF changed the trading name to Kay Premium Marking Films (KPMF) Ltd.   Kay Automotive Graphics also had plants located in Michigan USA and Mexico, all locations worked together as a global team to provide the world-class excellence in design, engineering, creative graphics and prototype services that our customers have come to rely on.

KPMF was at the forefront of the development of vehicle wrapping films initially for the German taxi market, where directives stated that all taxis had to be a light beige colour.  K88823 Taxi Beige was born and is still included in the VWS I range of products.  The Vehicle Wrap portfolio has grown extensively to include an innovative selection of cast products including pearlescent, starlight and iridescent vehicle wraps, protective overlaminate vinyl films, and a bespoke colour matching service to satisfy the constantly developing vehicle wrapping market.

Kay Automotive Graphics was acquired by ORAFOL in September 2019.  The sale also included KAG’s sister companies Kay Graficas Automotrices in Mexico and the Kay Premium Marking Films manufacturing plants in the US and UK.

Dr. Holger Loclair, Managing Director of ORAFOL Europe GmbH welcomed the KAG companies into the Orafol Group saying, “The successful blending of production capacities and market expertise will result in increased efficiencies and know-how in the solid-colour wrap market and enhance ORAFOL’s presence in the OEM automotive market.”

Kay Automotive Graphics and their KPMF subsidiaries continue to operate under their respective names as wholly owned subsidiaries of ORAFOL International Inc.

KPMF continue to distribute products through our worldwide network of distributors, offering a comprehensive and diverse portfolio of materials perfect for signage, vehicle wrapping, graphics, automotive and functional applications.
